Adult Counselling FAQ

What happens during a counselling session?

During the first counselling session, I sit with a client and ask a number of varying questions to help the client work through issues or struggles they may be experiencing. Clients are free to discuss anything that they want to during the session and I encourage them to lead the session to help understand their thoughts and actions. Depending on the issues being discussed during the session, therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, person-centred therapy, and reality therapy may be discussed.

What kind of counselling methodology do you use?

I approach adult counselling in an integrative and therapeutic manner, implementing a range of different methodologies depending on the issues you are facing and the type of person you are. Examples of methodologies used include CBT, DBT for adults, person-centred therapy, solution-focused therapy, and reality therapy.

How much does adult therapy cost?

The price of adult therapy varies depending on whether you require couples therapy or individual therapy. My Galway and Westmeath counselling services begin at €70 per session. Get in touch for more information about my pricing structures.
